Skadden (NY) vs. WilmerHale (NY)

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Sep 16, 2014 5:49 pm

Help! My interest is in litigation and I want opportunities for substantive work (lol).

Does anyone have experience at either firm? Any information that I may not have uncovered? Thanks for making this decision for me. It's just my career.

I really liked WilmerHale, but others would much prefer Skadden. I chose a different firm from either so I'm pretty neutral here.

My callbacks at each produced very different vibes - like I couldn't think of two top firms in the city with more different cultures. Wilmer is brainy and academic, Skadden fratty and corporate. Wilmer is a relatively small NY office with extremely well qualified people often transplanted from DC/Boston, whereas Skadden is a huge central office of a mega-firm with a lot of representation around the country. Did you really not sense one more than the other?
