Follow up!!!!
if you don't have any offer yet, follow up all the firms you mass mailed!! just got a cb from a V30 firm shortly after I sent a follow up email. (they also asked for my transcript, which I submitted almost a month ago, probably just being ignored at that time).

What's the protocol re: following up with firms you've already followed up with?

Re: Follow up!!!!
How soon would it be ideal to follow up? I mass mailed a bunch of firms last week and have gotten 6 bites. Is the 1-week mark too early to follow up? 2-weeks ideal?Anonymous User wrote:What's the protocol re: following up with firms you've already followed up with?

Re: Follow up!!!!
I second this. I was going to be near a different city for an interview and followed up with firms in a nearby city and picked up an extra interview. I followed up by calling the recruiting department. I thought it was more likely for me to get heard that way.

Do it! Just like the time before. And I generally would wait 3 weeks before following up but as it gets later into OCI season 2 weeks is probably an okay strategy.Anonymous User wrote:What's the protocol re: following up with firms you've already followed up with?

Re: Follow up!!!!
I also recommend you follow up post cb. I got an offer with a firm 3 hours after I sent a "still interested" email.

Re: Follow up!!!!
No great story to tell from applicant side, but as a former employer, yes, follow up. "We'll keep your resumé on file" for me usually had the unspoken ". . . in the pile with the hundreds of others we received that we'll never look at ever again." The way to get to the top of the pile is to be the most recent to arrive (especially if you happen to arrive right after the person they offered turned them down).

Re: Follow up!!!!
Another thing: Let firms know about pending offers. I did, and by the end of the day, I'd heard back from every firm with which I'd done a callback (including an offer from my 1st choice!).

Re: Follow up!!!!
Do you mean to name the offers specifically or just let them know that you have them?Anonymous User wrote:Another thing: Let firms know about pending offers. I did, and by the end of the day, I'd heard back from every firm with which I'd done a callback (including an offer from my 1st choice!).

Just let them know that you have offers, and be prepared to name the firms if they ask.Anonymous User wrote:Do you mean to name the offers specifically or just let them know that you have them?Anonymous User wrote:Another thing: Let firms know about pending offers. The people who are freaking out and need to be following up are the ones WITHOUT offers....

2 weeks for post CB is (i think) the standard.
