I just received an offer last week with a firm in a major market (Ny) and really enjoyed it. However not being from there, I was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask them if I could split the summer with their office in another major market (Chi) which I am from? The firm traditionally 100% offers their summers, but the NY office is the only one I interviewed with on campus and got a CB to.
Any thoughts on if this is normal or should I just take the offer and run?

Also interested in this. Would it decease the chance of getting an offer from each office? I wouldn't want to risk getting no-offered. My firm also offered 100% this year.Anonymous User wrote:I just received an offer last week with a firm in a major market (Ny) and really enjoyed it. Do you think you would end up gelling less with the summer class at the office you end up joining?

I mean I could ultimately care less. I'd rather have the piece of mind of being comfortable in my city with my friend group already than worrying about if I know when my fellow summers' birthdays are.Anonymous User wrote:Do you think you would end up gelling less with the summer class at the office you end up joining?

This depends from firm to firm, but it has become less common over the last few years. I would just ask the recruiter generally if it is something their firm allows and then if they say yes you can talk more specifics.
