Weird biglaw-related question
Just graduated, had a callback at a biglaw firm today for a non-partner track attorney position in a specific practice group. The position is really within a specific department of that specific practice group, and I would be working mainly with 1 particular of counsel dude who runs that department. My interview with him went exceedingly well. However, I interviewed with another partner in that practice group and although she was nice, I think I gave one or two stupid answers.
My question is, how much control would that 1 guy I would mainly be working under have over the hiring process?
Bonus question: She asked how I found out about the position, and I said I did a google search for positions within that specific field and found the position that way. How stupid of an answer is this? The sad part is that its not even true, I remembered later that I looked on the firm's website to see if they had openings and found the position that way. Also she asked for a reference list and stared at it for like 10 seconds, not sure what to make of that.

It doesn't matter. You either got the job or you didn't. Worrying about all these stupid details and asking random strangers on the internet whether inane detail X decreases your odds of getting the job by Y percent is pointless.

^^^Pretty much. Don't stress about something you can't control. Get a beer, do yoga, touch yourself, whatever calms you down and gets your mind off of it.bk1 wrote:It doesn't matter.
