What does a silence post-CB mean? I've been waiting 5 weeks now, I know offers have gone out... I've emailed the recruiter, but gotten no response, on the other hand still no ding

No offer, yet no rejection means you are in a holding pattern in case they need you later. The recruiter not answering your email, is however, a terrible sign. I'd assume ding.Anonymous User wrote:What does a silence post-CB mean? I've been waiting 5 weeks now, I know offers have gone out... Does your firm count hours spent on TLS as billables?

I don't know why they can't just send out a DING, all you have to do is hit reply. And I know they're busy... but it's much kinder.Anonymous User wrote:No offer, yet no rejection means you are in a holding pattern in case they need you later. Re: V42 Associate/OCI Interviewer Answering Questions...
Can you describe the process at your firm from the specific feedback you're asked to provide after interviewing a candidate, how long after the interview this happens, what sort of involvement screener & CB interviewers have in the ultimate hiring decision, what qualifications are focused on during the hiring decision, etc?
Also, what do you typically write on resumes when you're interviewing a candidate (is it typically the given responses, good/bad comments, etc.)? I could have sworn I glimpsed someone just draw a smiley face the other day.
Thank you for your insight.

The screener has a lot of leeway in picking who to CB. They have a rough range of people they are allow, and they must meet the grade cut off. What they look for varies very much on who is doing the screener.
There is a little form we mail to the recruiter. She organizes them and gives them to the hiring committee. The form has questions about which practice areas you want and why. Then there are sections where we rank you 1-5 based on academics, fit, and groupchoice/geography/ties. There is a section who to set you up with on a CB.
I fill it out right away, but if you take like a day the recruiter will bug you.
People typically take notes on good stuff. A smiley face is def pssible.
The recruiting committee does its magic by reading what everyone wrote, looking at transcripts, etc.

What about if my follow up was just phrased as "Expressing continued interest. Let me know if you need anything else. Looking forward to hearing from you." That is, it didn't demand a response? Only 2 weeks out & the firm is known to be slow (has only been giving offers for a week) but still loosing my shitAnonymous User wrote:No offer, yet no rejection means you are in a holding pattern in case they need you later. You are just either "on hold" or they haven't worked through all the CBs yet.Anonymous User wrote:What about if my follow up was just phrased as "Expressing continued interest. It's like getting a bronze medal. Gold is happy but now they gotta worry about repeating. Silver is pissed they were one spot away from glory. And bronze is just happy not having to suck dick behind Penn Station.arklaw13 wrote:What's it like to work at everyone's last choice?
