Post-CB : Letter of Continued Interest - What to say?
Hi, I completed a couple of CB's and one of them sticks out in particular. It's in a secondary market and they told me they wouldn't give offers out until mid-September; however, it has been 2 1/2 weeks since my CB and I would like to let them know they are my #1 firm. What should the substance of my email say? I don't want to just say "Hi, I really enjoyed your firm and want to let you know that you're still my number 1"... so, what should I say?
Also, I should send this to the recruiting manager, correct?

Considering they told you no offers go out until mid-September, do you want to give the impression that you didn't listen?
Just sit tight and let the process unfold.

Same thing happened to me. Got told 3 weeks, but I followed up in 2 weeks to reaffirm my interest and got my offer in 3 weeks. You should follow up.Anonymous User wrote:Hi, I completed a couple of CB's and one of them sticks out in particular. What should one say in the email though? A generic outline would be nice --- I just wouldn't want to come off as desperate or socially awkward.

It's a little late for that, isn't it?Anonymous User wrote:What should one say in the email though? A generic outline would be nice --- I just wouldn't want to come off as desperate or socially awkward.
Seriously though I think what you wrote above is basically fine. Acknowledge that you understand how the process works but reaffirm your interest. Keep it short and simple and it will be harmless.

IMO writing one now is too early, unless you're writing to say that they're your top choice and that if offered you'll accept. I think before the stated timeline runs, this/expiring alternate offer notices are the only reasons to get in touch.
