Which firm would you choose for litigation in NY?

Re: people overwhelmingly voting GDC. I know GDC is known for lit, but Chambers seems to indicate the NY office is band 2 in most areas whereas STB / Debeboise, for example, are band 1. Can you all provide some insight as to why voting GDC > STB? Thanks!

No, I think it's probably smarter to go with the results of an anonymous poll. It's only your career.

In the years to come, Weil GDC will remain a large law firm. You will either accept an offer at Weil GDC, or for some large, market-paying firm that is, in every meaningful sense, completely fungible for Weil GDC. You'll summer there, and come back to TLS to explain how strong Weil GDC (or the other firm) is, financially and in terms of reputation. You'll start at the firm, and within about 6-12 months, you'll realize that all of these questions were completely meaningless to you as an employee and future alumni of the firm (which, at that point, is a status you want to attain sooner rather than later).

Best of luck in making your choice. You truly cannot go wrong.
