White & Case CB --> Offer 2014

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 30, 2014 4:18 pm

I don't have my callback scheduled until next week. Has anyone here done a callback yet, and if so, what was the turnaround time like?

I have a callback scheduled for 2 weeks out, and that was the earliest that was available. The recruited told me not to sweat it, but I dunno how much stock to put in that.

Interviewed a couple years back. Yeah, they asked some strange questions, threw out some hypos I never heard anywhere else. Be prepared to think on your feet.

Like legal question hypos? Or just general problem solving/behavioral stuff?

Also interested in the sorts of "non-standard" questions they asked.

Can anyone else who has done a CB w/ them chime in? This is my last CB and chance at not striking out.

NY CB here: Three of the four were normal interviews, but the fourth had a question to the effect of "Think of a problem in law. Tell me about the competing considerations, and what should be done." The question was really broad, you could honestly draw anything from current events, 1L coursework, etc., so long as you could articulate the issues and sound as though you'd reasonably thought through the competing considerations.

Another question was a behavioral one: "tell me about leadership" or something like that.

For the record, I interviewed at the DC office, and there were none of these types of questions.

I also recently interviewed in NY and had four interviewers, but I did not get a single curveball question. Was just like every other CB interview I've done. All of the people were extremely nice, btw.

For NY interviewees, how far in advance did you get your list of interviewers?

Did you meet with a hiring or managing partner? I met with 2 associates and 2 young partners, and I am wondering if this is a sign that they aren't really interested in me. Paranoid, I know. :shock:

I recently had a CB on a Thursday and the offer call came later on the following Monday, so don't get down if you don't hear back immediately.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
