Callback window

Post by anacharsis » Fri Aug 29, 2014 12:55 pm

How long do I have after receiving an offer?

Should I call the offering firm back to say that I'm taking their offer under advisement?

Thank you in advance.

Topic name is misleading.

But anyways, the firm is required to hold the offer open for 28 days, as long as you let them know within 14 days that you're still considering it.

That being said, it's always good form to acknowledge receiving an offer (I'm inferring that you didn't actually speak with anyone, but rather this was a voicemail offer), so it is probably a good idea to call back within 24-48 hours to thank them for the offer and let them know you will get back to them with a response.

Don't tell them you're taking their offer under advisement. That's... not how people speak in this context.
