Over 2 weeks since OCI- For some firms, no CBs or dings...
Classmates have gotten dinged from some of these firms post-screener, and some have gotten CBs. What's going on and what should I do? Should I follow up with recruiting? TYIA!

My CSO said silence like that generally results in a ding but you might as well follow up because it's doubtful following up with take you from a maybe pile to a ding pile. Rather, it could possibly move you from maybe to callback if they figure they need to callback someone else.
So yeah, you only live once, might as well follow up. But YMMV

True, I figured silence can't be good, but I guess it's better than dings that I know they've given out? Thanks!Anonymous User wrote:My CSO said silence like that generally results in a ding but you might as well follow up because it's doubtful following up with take you from a maybe pile to a ding pile. Should you follow up with the actual screener interviewer, or the recruiting contact?Anonymous User wrote:True, I figured silence can't be good, but I guess it's better than dings that I know they've given out? I'm the OP, so take with a grain of salt, but I feel like recruiting contact would make more sense, since I assume the screeners already forwarded along their evals. Could be wrong though.Anonymous User wrote:Should you follow up with the actual screener interviewer, or the recruiting contact?Anonymous User wrote:True, I figured silence can't be good, but I guess it's better than dings that I know they've given out? Different anon - I've decided I will be calling the two remaining screener interviewers from firms I would still consider but who've had radio silence tomorrow since my offer deadlines are coming up and if I'm going to CB at them it would have to be very soon.
I figure chance-wise its 60% goes to VM & person never responds, 20% says no decision yet but a ding email shows up that night, 15% dings me directly over the phone, and 5% actually offers a callback in time. Since the alternative is 100% ding, ill take my chances.

I followed up with one interviewer who interviewed me about 20 days ago, he said his firm already finished conducting CBs and they are in the process making summer offers. So I think silence after too long means-- we have something more important than sending you rejection letters.
Still good luck though.

basically what the guy above me said. To follow up on this, I left two voicemails, promptly followed by two equivalents of a ding via email.Anonymous User wrote:Different anon - I've decided I will be calling the two remaining screener interviewers from firms I would still consider but who've had radio silence tomorrow since my offer deadlines are coming up and if I'm going to CB at them it would have to be very soon.
