I have offers from these three firms. Anon. for obvious reasons. Let's be honest, it's not easy to differentiate between BigLaw firms. Which one would you choose?
For the record, I'm not terribly interested in staying at a firm for the rest of my life. If I were, that would probably bump up Jones Day, as it tends to lean more conservative, which matches my political affiliations. With that said, I could be open to firm life for a while, but I'm interested into transitioning into government (which seems to lead me toward Covington). I'm also interested in appellate law (which leads me toward Jones Day or Sidley).
ETA: I do have a court of appeals clerkship lined up with a judge who has sent a few individuals to SCOTUS recently, so while Covington has a fantastic DC reputation, I do think appellate at Jones Day or Sidley is reasonable.

So you're choosing between the firm with easily the best reputation in DC* and a couple of other firms?
Yeah that's tricky.

Unless you have supreme court clerk credentials/clerking for prestigious judge, you won't get appellate at Sidley or Jones Day
