How to decide

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Aug 24, 2014 5:54 pm

As it stands right now I have an offer at a market paying V20 firm in Chicago and a market paying firm in Detroit. I still have 4-6 more CBs over the next 2 weeks between these two markets. I'm awaiting word on NYC and DC CBs as well.

How have you decided which offer to take?

Long term I may want to be in Detroit and given the cost of living/pay - that may be the best financially responsible decision. I'm interested in Corp/M&A/Banking/PEG work. Both firms are strong in that area - Chi does larger and more international deals, all Detroit firms are doing this on a more national scale, but with F100 companies and given the recovery they are seeing more work. The Detroit firms are all financially strong (no debt on the books, no layoffs during recession, etc).

What do you take into consideration when evaluating your offers - in different markets or in the same market?

Look at practice groups for the specific offices, exit options, offer rate for summers, pretty much all the basic stuff.
