Waiting to hear from 10 firms

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Aug 17, 2014 2:01 pm

Transfer into Berkeley Law--I mostly targeted LA, but some SF, OC, SD. I'm still waiting to hear back from about 10 or so firms out of 22 interviews from the screening process. Got 2 CBs and the rest rejections. Should I expect that most of these will be dings?
I know conventional wisdom says start mass mailing regardless, but I am just curious whether these are likely to be rejections or whether I can have some hope as I continue to mass mail other firms?

You might get 1 or 2, but most are done.

Some of the firms could just be putting you in a maybe pile, but likely that most will be rejections

When was OCI? If you interviewed last Th/F then it's to early to write these off.

OP here,
OCI was 4th-8th of August. The firms I am waiting to hear back from are scattered throughout either the 5th-8th (Tu-Fri). I know that most of them have sent out CBs to others, although some have also sent dings which I have not received.

Stop reading tea leaves and start mass mailing, IMO

I am in a similar position as you OP, I am hoping that once a few of the CBs get turned down and/or people turn down offers we will get a callback. *Wishful thinking*

The odds of those being cbs are pretty low, I think. Let them go and move on with the mass mail. If it turns out otherwise, it's just a plus.
