Weekend in Between Callbacks

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 16, 2014 9:13 pm

I have callbacks scheduled across two weeks in the same city. Would firms be willing to pay for hotel stay for fri and sat night?

Can't hurt to ask, but I doubt it, TBH.

My greatest accomplishment in life was the following:

Plane to NYC Wednesday afternoon. 2 callbacks Thursday, 1 callbacks Friday, 1 callback Saturday (some firms do "super Saturday" callbacks - mine was Skadden), 1 callback Monday, flight back Monday. Stayed at one hotel the entire time, and had no issue splitting costs (general rule of thumb is one night in a hotel per firm), and the firms saved money anyway since I did it all with just one round-trip ticket.

Your issue will be if you have Friday/Monday (two firms) and need three nights (Friday/Saturday/Sunday). It's probably still worth asking, because one extra night in a hotel is probably cheaper for recruiting than an extra set of flights?

I had a callback on a Friday and another on a Monday in the same city. The firms split the costs for me to stay in a hotel Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. It is usually cheaper for them to do that then pay for an entire flight, given how costly flights are these days. It was absolutely no big deal when I asked if this were an option - probably a common situation.
