Following up on fedgov interview... please help!!
Had a phone interview w/ a federal agency on Friday the 8th... it was supposed to be in person but I was on my post-bar trip when the agency called to schedule an interview, and they wanted to do it ASAP. At the end of the interview I was told that I had made it to the second round and that they wanted me to come interview in person, and that I would be contacted shortly to set it up.
I have not been contacted to set up the second interview. Would it be a good idea to follow up on Monday, or should I wait longer or not follow up at all? Also, is there any chance they changed their mind? I was told very clearly that I was to be given a second interview and would be contacted about it.

There's always the chance that they've changed their mind, but it's really small. Mostly likely, this being August, some of the people involved are probably out of the office or you've just fallen under the radar. I know at my agency almost everyone was out last week. Don't see how it would hurt in any way to call or email and ask what's going on.

Followed up on monday politely thanking them for inviting me back, saying I was back in town and that I could come in at their convenience. No response. What is wrong with these people

Welcome to the federal government. I was once told I had the job after an interview and waited for 2 months for them to finally get the ball rolling.

Just a bit confused because they seemed to be rushing at first.
