OCI Receptions

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Aug 12, 2014 3:35 pm

What's the consensus on attending receptions? I have been invited to three V10 receptions, and I already did callback with one of them, currently in the waiting phase. Do these events stand to do more to help or hurt my chances of getting an offer?

I am a social person and certainly enjoy cocktail receptions, but at the same time, the "forced" conversations and risk of saying one thing that could spoil my chances of getting an offer just seem too high....don't want to come off as anti-social by not attending though.

Just go to them and act like a normal human being. I doubt attending will make much of a difference, but I suppose it could push you over the edge if they were ok the fence about you.
