Constructive criticism
Do firms actually give some constructive criticism during midsummer and final reviews? Or do they only focus on the positives during reviews?

Re: Constructive criticism
Since the bar is set so low for summers and they want you to accept your offer, I don't think you get constructive criticism if you're doing well. If you suck, you'll likely be gently pushed in the right direction ("are you having trouble finding work" if your hours are abysmally low).
I had no constructive feedback myself and I don't think I was perfect.
