I had a solid first year (top 25%) and wrote onto LR. I landed a variety of good law firm and in-house positions. But for reasons of extreme financial distress, my grades took a huge dive in the second half of law school.
My graduating GPA is abysmal, about 2.8. My (small-midsize) firm doesn't care, I doubt they will even ask for a transcript when I start next month. (I summered there and worked part time through the year). I like the firm a lot and hope to be there for at least 5 years.
My question is whether my GPA will hurt me in a job search down the road. I feel like I need to know this so I can plan my career accordingly (to the extent possible of course).
In case it makes a difference, practice area is patent prosecution and litigation.
