Reaching out to alumni before OCI
If I have a firm in which I'm interested, and I received a screener from that firm during OCI, is it okay to reach out to an alumni who currently works at that firm to talk about his or her experience? Is that overstepping or do you think this would be acceptable?

Of course do this. Not only can you name drop in your interview which makes you sound very interested in the firm, but you'll actually learn things about the firm so you can speak to why you like the culture and what attracts you to the firm. Please reach out.
