Such a thing as Too Many Screener Interviews?

My mistake, didn't mean to "brag". Thanks.

I recently got my results back for OCI (Pre-select). I did very well my first year and have over 15 screener interviews. From what I have gathered by reading other topics, people normally don't decline until the call-back. But my main question is if there is such a thing as too many interviews. I have about 13 of these in a 3 day period. Is this too many? Or should I just do them all and go for a more quantity over quality approach? I'll obviously focus more on the ones I really want, but so far am planning to take them all.
that's not even that many to be honest, I have 14 at oci and another 4 a few days before at a regional oci and I am scrambling to try to get more for OCI. Planning on hustling at the hospitality suites hard. I think there can be too many, like if you had 30 in 3 days but 13 in 3 days is pretty light, definitely don't drop any and I would be hustling for more.

If you're going to brag, think twice about posting it on a forum full of law students. Call your mom and brag to her or something.

Yeah Too many

I recommend doing about 6 screeners

That will definitely be enough to get you several biglaw offers

I mean you are such a great candidate and outstanding student and everything why not just do 1 or 2 screeners that should be enough

NYU students do 22-28 on average in 3 days (non pre-select)

I have 26 and am trying to get more. Definitely not too many.

Are you trying to get more from those who didn't pre-select you - or more from those that didn't come to campus? If it is from those that didn't pre-select you, how are you going about doing this?

top schools don't have pre-selects. and you can pick up other screeners from massmailing or hospitality suites at OCI usually.

Not true. UVA is 70% preselect, 30% lottery. I believe the rest of the T14 is 100% lottery

Unless you have an offer there is no such thing as too many screeners.

If you have an offer, you may as well drop every screener for a firm you definitely wouldn't take over the offer.

I had 29 in 3 days. All due to lottery, picking up some during add/drop and going to suites. i completely fucked up 1 or 2 and wasnt on my best game for a couple aswell just because i had too many during such a short period. but at the end of the day since i had 29 i could afford to screw up PLENTY. ended up getting me a ton of callbacks, was happy with decision to take on that many screeners, though it was a hellish 3 days.

How does the lottery work? My school never had that. 16? I was happy with just 4.

You bid for firms. Slots go out to the highest bids until there are none left.

Definitely cancel some. Screeners are a grueling 20 minutes and you should never do more than one or maybe two a day.

15 isn't honestly even "enough" let alone "too many." Mass-mail your butt off. People have struck out with way more than 15 screeners. 5/day isn't even that tough of a schedule. You could get them all done by lunch while still leaving 20 minutes in between (if your schedule lined up perfectly).

Yea I echo what everyone else said here. I have maybe 16-17 screeners with really only about 12 of them being larger firms that I like. I am stressing hard here trying to hustle up more screeners because I am scared about striking out. Until you have an offer in hand you should take as many interviews as possible.

Nice edit OP:

I'm sure you didn't mean to "brag" just like you must be a "great person to talk to in real life"

lol 15 is not too many. 60 is too many, maybe (but probably not). 15 is too few.

I had 23 screeners, more than almost anyone I knew except the resident computer science prodigy. Did them all, got just 1 CB and no offers. Consider yourself warned, OP.

I did 22 screeners and only got one offer, so 14 is nothing.

18 screeners 1 CB no offers at OCI

Got 9 more CBs outside of OCI and 4 offers and ended up canceling/withdrawing from 2 places
