Anyone know anything about attorney positions in PE firms?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jul 31, 2014 12:22 am

Hi. Baby associate at a firm with very strong ties to private equity firms. Just got a headhunter call asking me to interview with a major PE client for an entry level attorney position. Kind of surprising because I do antitrust / white collar and have absolutely no knowledge about fund formation, etc. What the hell does a no-nothing junior associate do at a PE firm? What are the career prospects? Compensation structure? I asked the headhunter and she knew very little other than it would be "roughly equivalent" to what I earn now in BigLaw lockstep.

Interview isn't for a few weeks, so I figured I'd see what TLS knew about it. Thanks.
