Diversity Scholarship - Not Diverse

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jul 30, 2014 12:58 pm

Any point in applying to these if you're a non-diverse applicant? I have some involvement with my school's LGBTQA club (ally) but nothing that actually makes me diverse.

The answer is no, but if you're confused about what qualifies as diverse, call up the diversity fair to see if you qualify/ask them to clarify.

I am not confused about what qualifies - I'm definitely not diverse. I am interviewing with a firm and they emailed me (assuming it was a mass email) to tell me about their diversity scholarship. I was just double checking to make sure that I was right in not applying.

I appreciate the clarification, Anon

Generally, Diversity Scholarships require that you be diverse. Time in a club doesn't count.
