Schulte Roth Zabel "full round"

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jul 29, 2014 2:33 pm

Received a "full round" interview at SRZ through mass mailing. The interviews will last 2.5 hours total. Is this the equivalent of a "callback", i.e., an offer could come from these interviews? Anyone have any experience with SRZ? Anyone have similar experiences with other firms that they think would be helpful to share? Thanks!

I don't have experience, but I mass mailed SRZ as well. How long ago did you send yours?

I don't know anything about Schulte's recruiting in particular, but a full-round interview is typically something that comes after a screener. That plus the length probably indicates that it's basically a callback.

How did the callback go/did you receive an offer yet? Have a CB coming up and would like to know how it works there. Thanks!

PSA: anytime anyone says "full round" interview or you interview with 3-5 people for 2-3 hours with a decently well known firm (big law in a major to secondary market) it is what you would call a callback and typically the offer comes after if it is coming at all. Exceptions to this are fairly rare.

OP here. I should be hearing by the end of this week/early next week. I interviewed before they conducted any OCI, and they told me that their hiring committee would need a couple of weeks to begin meeting and making decisions. Fingers crossed, I really liked it there.

Thought we lost ya, OP. I'm in the same situation with you I think, hopefully the fact we didn't get dinged yet is good news (as in, I got a ding from another interview I did at the same time, and both are currently dinging OCI people). Fingers crossed for both of us.

Just to note, this is not the case in many regional biglaw firms. Offers may not come until weeks after the CB.

OP here. Just realized I had a voicemail on my phone from yesterday evening extending me an offer for next summer.

So, my timeline looks like:

Interview: 8/6
Offer: 8/14

I have a handful of CB's remaining with firms that I am also very interested in, so I am going to see how I do in those before making any decision. My other CB's are (for the most part) coming up very shortly, so I will likely make a decision before you interview.

I will be going for a second look (still unscheduled), so I will try to do that asap. That way, if I decide that I will not be accepting their offer, I can get out of the way for you and others. Really seemed like a great place to work, though, FWIW.

When was your interview? Better question: Did anyone who interviewed this week hear back yet?
