All that work for something that probably isn't going to happen. It's the worst.

Trying to get myself to believe that, despite all of what law school has taught me thus far, I AM a special fucking snowflake.

Get a friend to list what they think is special about you. If you're a modest person it's hard to say your best qualities but you really have to own it for a quality app. Successful fellowship apps is less about how impressive you actually are than it is about who can make themselves seem most impressive.

Thanks, I'm usually pretty good at formatting my skills/experiences into presentable thoughts, but yeah it's just kinda strange trying to pump my hopes up again (against the odds). Guess that's PI jump applying in a nut-shell though .

As a 2L when can/should I start looking and applying for post-grad fellowships and positions?

Is it tough to get a policy/impact lit fellowship when all your experience has been direct services?

The waiting game is driving me insane. Do we hear anything if we're not getting an interview for Skadden, or EJW? I looked through prior threads, but couldn't find much information about that. It looks like they just make you wait and suffer for a long time? I know for Skadden the interview offers come earlier, so if you don't get one you can assume it's a no-go. But EJW seems endless.

I believe they have the decency to let you know if you're dinged.

Does anyone know the acceptance rates of EJW, Skadden, and AmeriCorps Legal Fellowships? Curious as to what I am up against!

Curious about this as well. I saw in the past years that people were contacted within 2 weeks.

I got a call as well. Does anybody know where to find more information about the interview process? I skimmed one of the other threads here but didn't really see anything. I do NOT come from a top school and do not have a network of other students to ask... kind of freaking out. Good luck, everybody!

If your school doesn't have any alums you can talk to, look up prior fellows who got a fellowship for a similar topic. Stalk them on linkedin, and send a message just asking for some friendly advice.

Otherwise your fellowship sponsor has likely been through the process before. Even if it's been a few years, ask if they have a previous fellow you could contact.
