OCI C&F
Hi all,
Was wondering if OCI employers ask about C&F. I had a minor incident in college regarding being a group walking campus that got busted because someone in the group lit up a joint. I received behavioral probation for a few months, and had the option of paying a $250 fine or doing 30 hours service. I chose the service. I recorded all of thsi when applying to school, so I'm not worried about anyone "finding out" and not being able to sit for the bar because it wasn't disclosed. Police were never involved, it was just a campus police thing, not even sure if it is recorded anywhere at my college. I finished college magna and I'm top 5% in law school after 1L.
My point is, do employers ask about these things? Even if they don't ask, am I expected to just volunteer this information? Do I run the risk of ethical problems down the road if I don't disclose it now? Thanks.

Employers don't ask in interviews, and you're not under any duty to disclose unless an application specifically asks you to disclose something like this (which I really doubt one ever would if it were handled in-school and police weren't involved).

I think the most troubling thing is that you think your time is worth $8.33/hour.

Haha, hey. Broke college kid, certainly wasn't about to call home and ask the rents to pay that one. So it goes.bulinus wrote:I think the most troubling thing is that you think your time is worth $8.33/hour.

Re: OCI C&F
I can't imagine a scenario where they would even know to ask, nor care about asking.
Employers don't get to look through your admissions files, fyi, except for rare exceptions like some Govt. agencies. If you are currently enrolled at said school, they would be highly wary of a FERPA violation and not share. Also, I was a CSO Dean for 3.5 years and I don't think we were asked once to show an admissions file. Even more, I was looking at hiring a former student and I could not look at their admissions file.
Long story short, you are fine.
Mike
