Sunbelt Minority Recruitment Program Fair

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jul 21, 2014 10:30 pm

Did any of y'all bid for the Sunbelt Minority Fair?

I put in 14 bids. I'm an older student from a TTTT so I'm ready for the preselects to come out so I can see if I managed to snag any. Might not be any to go around with schools such as UT, SMU and others involved, but I figured I'd cast my rod and see if any fish bite.

IF I do manage to snag a preselect or two, it will be nice to at least have the opportunity with the screeners to try and move on to the callback level.

Good luck to everyone that bid.

OP here. just two more days until my potential shutout. At least I'll be able to use my new AE Park Avenues and new suit at my day job if I get the big zero ;). I needed to upgrade my wardrobe anyway.

Ended up with 5 preselects and 1 alternate.

At least I get a chance to interview and that's about all I can ask for at this point.

It's both exciting to get a chance, and disappointing to be rejected by the other 8 right out of the gate.

Good luck to everyone at their OCI and these fairs.

;)

I'm from a TTT and applied to Sunbelt just to have the chance to get in front of some Biglaw firms. Applied to 14 places, got preselected for 8. Looking forward to the interviews!

OP here, my alternate turned into a scheduled screener, so have 6 chances now. Looking forward to a week from Friday with nervous anticipation. My first crack at this, hopefully it will bear some fruit.

Well, in effect got my first ding before I even got in the room. Received an email that Alston & Bird has cancelled their participation and that was one of my 6. Down to 5 chances already. ugh.
