Weil NYC Early CBs
Have a CB coming up and had a couple questions if anyone could help me out.
I noticed the CB is only 2.5 hours this time, whereas when I did a 1L CB it was 6 hours. Is this going to be a noticeably different format? Is this CB more of a formality since they already met me earlier this year?
Does anyone know what the timeline for offers usually is?
Thanks

I don't have Weil specific knowledge, but if they are making rolling decisions (something you should definitely ask the recruiter if they haven't told you) you could hear back very soon. I know of another NY V15 that had a 3 day turnaround on CB->Offer in a similar situation as this.

How did you get a CB already? Mass mail? Is top 20% at lower T14 competitive for something like this?Anonymous User wrote:Have a CB coming up and had a couple questions if anyone could help me out.

Re: Weil NYC Early CBs
I have personal knowledge/experience. If you did the 1L callback with them, don't expect a markedly different experience. If you didn't, (and I'm pretty sure you didn't, because they're not usually that long) their cbs are like most other firms--successive interviews + lunch. It's possible that the 2.5 hours did not factor in lunch, in which case the total time would likely be 3.5 hours.Anonymous User wrote:Have a CB coming up and had a couple questions if anyone could help me out.

Turnaround time might be a bit longer because it's so early. Max 2 weeks.

Re: Weil NYC Early CBs
I did do a 1L CB, its why I have this early CB (also answer to previous anon, and I am about top 20% at lower T14 myself). It might have been closer to 5 hours (5 attorney interviews, lunch and closing interview with recruiting), but it seems the biggest difference is there is no lunch scheduled this time. Thank you for the turnaround info, appreciate it!Anonymous User wrote:I have personal knowledge/experience. If you did the 1L callback with them, don't expect a markedly different experience. Re: Weil NYC Early CBs
not at weil, but had an early cb at another ny firm. got the impression it will be a bit longer from them, but since its early everywhere, might be the case here. if i was them, i would also wait until they saw the oci candidates. although i dont want to admit that.

Interesting. I thought those early interviews were only for people who interviewed for their 1L summer program.Anonymous User wrote:They looked at a good handful from Texas last weekAnonymous User wrote:I haven't heard anything back yet. They said it was a mix of ppl being invited back from 1L SA CBs and ppl that massmailed them from schools that they weren't going to OCI for.Anonymous User wrote:Interesting. I thought those early interviews were only for people who interviewed for their 1L summer program.

Re: Weil NYC Early CBs
Got a callback from Weil with several options for dates/times. One day had morning interviews with a lunch, or there were three dates in the evening with a cocktail reception after. Is there an advantage to any of them? I had to rank my preferences, so I just ordered them in chronological order, figuring that the earlier I get in the better.

Just correction: UT had a job fair in NY, and Weil was one of the interviewers. Got a CB from them the next day, and will likely go up for it after UT's OCI next week.Anonymous User wrote:Interesting. Re: Weil NYC Early CBs
I would email them at this point (2 weeks is appropriate). It may be a ding, but force their hand. Tell them you can come in again and meet more attns if it will help them w/ their decision. if they're gonna ding you, they'll do it right then and get it over with.thtsm3 wrote:anyone been dinged? it's been two weeks since i interviewed and i'm expecting the worst...
