Rising 2L here. The person I'm working for this summer has asked me to stay and work for them in the fall because of the good job I've been doing. Is this something I should update firms I've applied to outside of OCI with? Should I do this by updating on the resume? TYIA.
(Anon to err on the side of caution).

I wouldn't update them with that right now, but perhaps sometime in August I would use that as an excuse to follow up (assuming you you don't have anything more substantial to update them with by then).

Would at least 50% of people on this board recognize the name of the person you're working with? AKA, are you doing research for Judge Posner or interning for a prestigious DOJ component? If not, this is not worth an update to firms. It's not a bad idea to use it as a follow-up in late August, but you'll need to say something interesting about the nature of the legal work you're doing to make it valuable.
