Hey all,
Just had a couple of quick questions about mass mailing, as I am going to start next week.
When looking many of the bigger firms (DLA, Jones Day, hogan lovells, Morgan Lewis, etc.) they have an option to apply online, but also list the recruiting contacts for each office. Should rising 2L's applying for SA positions apply online in lieu of sending an email with your documents to the recruiting contact? Obviously if they state a preference to apply online then I would do that, but many do not state a specific preference or bar you from sending an email.
I would prefer to send an email, as I feel the online applications make it so easy to get lost in the mix, but I don't want to upset any firms/potential employers.
Also, what's the consensus on timing to start mass mailing? I've yet to see anything definitive and am curious about what is too soon.
Thanks!

Online applications also take way more time. You can try sending an e-mail to whatever e-mail is listed on NALP, but most of the time if the firm has an option to apply online you will get an auto-reply e-mail asking you to do so.

Of the 6 emails that I have received in response 4 have been to reapply via the website.

So essentially it's more of a "mass apply" than a "mass mail" for many of the firms...hoos89 wrote:Online applications also take way more time. If they have an online application, it's because they want you to use the online application.
