What is better to do? Pleas help?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:17 pm

So I have an interview set up with a firm.
Since I applied, things have changed a little, and I can't start working until next summer.
I obviously want to work with this firm next year though.
Should I cancel the interview? Ask them now whether they'd consider me for next year instead? Or ask them about it after I actually get an offer?
Trying to see what's the best course of action to leave at least some future possibility with this firm..

Please help!! Thanks

What do they think they're hiring you for?

I know. That's why I'm asking which action (or any other suggestions) would do the least damage..

I mean, it's July. What is going on here. You were trying to get a termtime gig? Or are you a 0L? What's the story?

No. It's an associate position. Graduated. Heard back last month.
Told them I could start in Sept. but things changed and can't start till next June..
So any thoughts?

Not sure if this is serious. It sounds like you have a 1 year clerkship. Tell the firm, ask if they still want to interview you. Very easy

It's not. Just curious if they would still reconsider me next year if I cancel interview and reapply next year... Or if it's better to get an offer first and then ask for extension then.

It's not a clerkship but you're considering backing out of a job with a firm?
