Moot court/Journal and OCI requirements

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jul 03, 2014 11:28 am

A number of Firms have requirements stating Journal/Law Review - problem is we won't know these until mid to late July and Bidding is going on now. The school has said they have already informed the firms of this timeline but should this be mentioned anywhere in the cover letter? I don't have room on my Resume for a disclaimer about this and frankly that is a bit much in my opinion. Wasn't sure thoughts on mentioning this anywhere it would fit, if at all, in the CL.

thanks.

Seems like as long as the firms know, you should be fine. If you don't find out until too late, then neither will everyone else so it'll be obvious if you lied about it. And it would end badly if you end up not getting either and you put it on there.

For most firms, those requirements don't mean anything. I know plenty of classmates who landed at firms that had as requirements "Journal experience required" and/or "Top 25% required"...and these students fulfilled neither of these.
