post-grad resume advice

Post by objctnyrhnr » Thu Jul 03, 2014 8:42 am

hi all,

I graduated middle of my class in may at a regional powerhouse t30, and i recently obtained a federal judicial clerkship for this upcoming term in the same region. I am now looking forward to employment following this next year and I am trying to decide how to revamp my resume.

My categories include: (a) legal employment, (b) potentially legal internships (in which case I would put the clerkship under legal employment and all of my internships here), (c) publications of which I have a few, (d) education that obviously includes grad and undergrad (my undergrad was good and I got a really good GPA), (e) other volunteer/work experience which are very good softs to talk about in the resume and come up regularly, (f) and activities and interests which are also far from run-of-the-mill

So my questions are:

1. should i break up full-time legal employment (only this clerkship) and legal internships, or no?

and, more importantly, 2. what order should all of these categories be in?

I'd do an education category at the top, experience category next starting with the most recent experience and including your past internships, any relevant work experience, and relevant volunteer work, publication cateogry, then interests and activities category at the bottom
