I've used it. Legit cheaper for some hotels, but not for others. Also must be careful - one room I almost booked and decided to research first. Found out that it's a shared bathroom sitch that wasn't represented on the Hotel Tonight app. Also risky to show up in another city without a reservation, but if waiting until the same day is okay with you then HN is a good option.Jchance wrote:havent used it myself but I've heard good reviews. Re: CCBA Job Fair (2014)
As someone who traveled extensively on business, let me add my two cents and say that I always found Hotwire.com to be the cheapest most of the time. You can't select a specific hotel when you book (rather, you choose a neighborhood) but you are guaranteed a "star level" of the hotel; - usually you get a four star boutique hotel at a two star price (e.g. Swissotel, The James, or The Ivy). Some people can't stand the randomness of this, but it's a bargain hard to refuse.echooo23 wrote:I've used it. Legit cheaper for some hotels, but not for others. Re: CCBA Job Fair (2014)
Was able to get another interview added, so updating this:
Anonymous User wrote:Pretty happy now, went from 2 interviews to56!
School: MVP
Rank: Didn't include on resume
Ties to Chicago?: Strong ties (Family)
IP?: Sort of
URM/Affiliation?: Non-URM minority
# of Bids: 25
# of Interviews (w/ bid numbers - closer to 1 is more likely lottery, closer to 25 is more likely pre-select):2, 3, 11, 17 and 24; also one firm I didn't bid on.
The "3 and 17 bids" were added through additional interview requests and the "11 bid" without a request.

Re: CCBA Job Fair (2014)
Anyone like the "please stop e-mail us or anyone else" e-mail?
Also interesting to note that they said "over 500 students" last year it was "over 700" and before that "over 800"

Re: CCBA Job Fair (2014)
just an FYI, you can email CCBA to find out what interviews resulted from the lottery and what were from preselection.
Apparently I got a couple because I was a selected alternate. Didn't even know they did that...

So what's the process if we're trying to pick up more interviews tomorrow?

Did they even say this was possible? The latest email about schedules made it seem like things were final. Maybe someone registering tonight at the reception can ask?Anonymous User wrote:So what's the process if we're trying to pick up more interviews tomorrow?

The Patent job fair was worse.cookiejar1 wrote:Lol these halls are literally dripping with anxiety.
Also, a suggestion: if you have interviews back to back on separate floors, take the stairs. The elevators here are slow/unreliable. If you're female and you brought flats, you should switch into the flats for the stairs (they're metal and annoying according to one of my female friends who was at the patent job fair).
Also, where you TLS peeps at?

Waiting for my first interview at 1pm. I wish they had an open bar. Atleast they're serving food unlike Loyolashadowofjazz wrote:The Patent job fair was worse.cookiejar1 wrote:Lol these halls are literally dripping with anxiety.

Got one from Whyte Hirschboeck, but I'm sure they're not one of the firms everyone is clamoring to hear from.Anonymous User wrote:any CBs go out today?
