Making my bidlist at a T20, having problems with firms (usually outside of my law school's market) that are coming to OCI yet have not hired from my school in the past (from searching on firm websites). Should I still bid them high or is this a sign that they really would not hire anyone from my school since they haven't apparently in the last few years?
Just to provide a bit more info, my law school is located across the country from the firm locations I am referring to. So I'm not sure if they haven't hired due to self selection (people don't want to move across the country) or they actually want to hire people from markets right near the firm.
I really want to apply to these locations of firms since their class sizes are bigger than their alternative location in my law school's market, but of course I don't want to waste a bid if I don't even have a chance of getting hired at the farther location.

They wouldn't waste their money flying across the country to interview at your school if they were not looking to hire. Depends on the firm and your grades...What firm is it?

I know of firms that never have 2Ls from our school that nonetheless made offers, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If there are firms that hire many grads regularly from your school, you would be crazy not to prioritize those firms, but if you are talking about moving a firm to the bottom behind firms that usually/sometimes hire like 1 2L, then that doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

A friend avoided a particular firm because the firm had not hired from her school. She stuck out at OCI but her mass mailings landed her a job at that same firm. One just never knows.

I'm at a big firm in NYC that had never hired from my school.
