So I currently have 2 offers in hand.
Offer 1: A really good law firm at a location I want. But it's only for 1 year (possibly extending thereafter but no certainty).
Offer 2: Pretty decent law firm but at an undesirable (for me) location. Quasi-permanent (so there is job security), pay is slightly less.
Interview from Firm 3.
Not sure which one to take. Just looking at the firm and work I would do, I'd much prefer Offer 1 but that initial 1 year term makes me nervous. Is it possible to ask Firm 2 to defer the offer to the following year?
Also should I take the interview with Firm 3?
If I were to take Offer 1 today and have to reapply for jobs next year, Firm 2 and 3 are the ones I would like to be at. So I'm a bit scared if I turn down their offer/interview today, they might not even consider me next year when I reapply. Is that true?

Yea I doubt they are going to want you after you got dinged from another firm. Take Firm 2 or 3.Anonymous User wrote:So I currently have 2 offers in hand.

Would they think they were dinged even if I just don't interview with them?Desert Fox wrote: Yea I doubt they are going to want you after you got dinged from another firm. Take Firm 2 or 3.
Also you would take 2 or 3 even though location is undesirable and won't get as much work experience?

Why is the first job limited to one year. That doesn't make sense to me.Anonymous User wrote:Would they think they were dinged even if I just don't interview with them?Desert Fox wrote: Yea I doubt they are going to want you after you got dinged from another firm. Take Firm 2 or 3.

I'd be afraid you get fired after a year and then can't find a job.
