I think there's already a thread for Miami biglaw and it's kinda different than the rest of the state anyway so I thought I'd make a new thread for Orlando/Tampa/Jax/etc. Hoping to get a 2L SA from direct mail or OCI and that's starting to come up soon, so figured anybody who's interested in that too or has some experience could post here.

I'm particularly interested in firms' reputations and hours, since info on that stuff seems harder to find for smaller markets. I hear Greenberg Traurig is a sweatshop and lowndes Drosdick isn't, for example, but I don't really know how true random rumors are. Although I did have a GT partner tell me "we have a reputation as a sweatshop," which is pretty bad coming from a partner. SA classes seem tiny--like really tiny, 1-2 SAs per firm--so it would be really useful to know whether all those people get offers too.

So, FL people. Post what you know, post questions, let's figure out if there are even any jobs in the state at all

Had my interviewer from GT say the exact same thing........but didn't get a call back and didn't summer with them.

Does anyone know if Baker Donelson hires outside of their summer classes?

When the classes are so small, I don't think that knowing the office's offer rate over the past two or three years can really give you much reassurance.

Regarding GT Tampa, I heard from the source a couple of years ago that they do not hire all of their summers. They are quite open about only making offers if they have enough work.
