Re: SEC Interview
I got an offer there for a summer gig. If you have any financial experience on the resume play that up. If not, show that you have a strong knowledge of current events in the financial markets and an interest in big cases the SEC has brought recently and how your interests / coursework / whatever else could play into that. My interview was very no-nonsense and to the point, so you have to be able to show quickly you have a strong interest in regulation of the markets, etc. and their mission generally.

Re: SEC Interview
Some interviewers are very relaxed, while others expect you to be pretty well versed in securities law. It's really a coin toss. I would just be prepared to discuss some of the more major recent financial reforms, cases, etc. Have a good story for why you want to intern there.BrooklynLaw16 wrote:Interviewing with the SEC today for a fall internship position. Re: SEC Interview
When did you apply? Just wondering what the timeline is like. I applied for summer and was pretty shocked I didn't get an interview, considering at the time I was in the top 1% at T20-T30, and have 10 years experience working in financial services. Anyway, I applied for Fall and haven't heard anything back yet, albeit I only applied about three weeks ago.BrooklynLaw16 wrote:HiredThanks guys. +1 BLS

I applied for the summer and didn't get called for an interview. Applied again for the fall in late May, and they called me in early June. Based on your credentials, I'm surprised that they didn't call you.

Re: SEC Interview
Applied for Fall program in March. Interview yesterday and offer extended the same day. Philadelphia office. I realize OP already got an offer (congrats!) but for future viewers of this thread, the interview was very relaxed. They asked about my previous experiences and why I wanted to work there. That was basically it.
