Am I screwed?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jun 10, 2014 5:25 pm

Just got 1L GPA/Rank today - 3.388 (123/347 = 35.4%) at Brooklyn Law. Am I totally screwed for OCI? What should I do to help expand my employment opportunities. I initially wanted Big Law but looks like that may be out of the question.

No offense, but you might want to develop an "interest" in working for anywhere that requires a J.D., will pay you, and will let you list them on your resume.

I would say the same thing to someone with your class rank who attends a school ranked 15 - 30, if that puts the urgency of your situation into better perspective.

If you wanted biglaw you shouldn't have gone to Brooklyn Law, which apparently is a school. I thought it was a failed Fox sitcom.

Why would you even bother with anonymous and then post about transfering Tsc402.

Why would you post your exact rank? Do you think that you'd get a different answer if you were #130 or #105?

Our law school is 100% pre-select, meaning that you will probably be screened out of interviews that require top 10% or top 20%. That being said, career services said that some firms will interview lower ranked students. Stack your resume with competitive internships and apply broadly.
