Anyone know anybody at a Distressed Debt/Credit Fund?
I met a guy a little while ago that did BB I-Banking -> HYS -> V5 -> Hedge Fund in an investing role. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone doing something similar and whether the time spent in law adds any value to working in an investment role.

i know a few people who did this. its common from a bankruptcy role. but by common, i mean slightly more common than from other practice groups. it is still incredibly hard to get, and these positions aren't being offered to you via a recruiter. you really have to hustle you're way into one of them. if you aren't already in law, doesn't make sense to go this route, you would be much better served doing an mba. its probably a little harder (or maybe the same) as going from m&a law --> banking. can be done, but can't really count on this, and usually open to pple with the right pre-law background (i.e. finance)
