W-4 Allowances for Summer Associates

Post by Pete Venkman » Wed May 21, 2014 10:03 am

I know there have been threads on this, I just wanted to check for updates about number of allowances people are claiming on their W-4s for SA positions. Anyone care to share?

I took 2. Forced savings for a bar trip. PLUS I don't want any possibility of trouble with the IRS right before C&F

I'm doing 24. It would be weird if he IRS questions you if it's their calculator you used to calculate your # of allowances. Also, in another thread (SA one maybe) someone said they heard of the IRS actually giving you shit if your return is too big and some SAs may not actually have gotten their return yet. I talked to my firm and they said it doesn't matter at all. I'd imagine most firms are similar from what I've heard
