I just want to sue people.
I'm not even that picky about who. Is that so much to ask?

Step 1: make a friend who has a mobility related disability.DELG wrote:Today I intensely just want to sue people, above and beyond all the other days I just wanted to sue people.
Step 2: find place of business in a crappy building without ramps.
Step 3: Sue.
There's a plaintiff in my court who must have a couple hundred of these suits to his name.

Sue schools for IDEA and unjust exclusion violations.
1) They all settle.
2) They all deserve it.

Eh. Everyone settles if you survive MSJ. In fact I'd prefer defendants that don't. Because trial.

Re: I just want to sue people.
Start a national firm of all former TFA people who just want to get back at schools/make them pay up the ass to instigate changes in school practice. Have all your associates do the filings. You only get involved for trials. Money for the firm. Fun for you. Educational reform for the students. All the win.

Re: I just want to sue people.
We're pipedreaming, right?
But addressing the question:
1) Yeah, schools are broke, but the violations are so easy to prove (from my perspective as a teacher, not as a lawyer), that I could imagine a firm being efficient enough to make okay money.
2) Jury wouldn't come back w/ more $ than the settlement, but hopefully more substantive school policy change through judgments? Maybe?

Qui tam's a bitch to get plaintiffs for.
The firms I worked for did med Mal and civil rights. Luckily for us, the local police just kept shooting people left and right. And in the back.

Inorite? Shame the DOJ didn't just take them over outright.
You know we're having a police shooting competition here in town soon? Not lying.
