LLM OCI?
If you did an LLM program, do you participate in the law school's OCI? And is there much demand for LLMs at OCI?

(1) if you're going to post the image, get a better version:

(2) at my school, LLMs go through a separate OCI program. It is supposedly brutal. Many qualified candidates do not get jobs.

I was thinking of applying to NYU, Georgetown, Northwestern, and Boston. But basically I should just do NYU and Georgetown?flawschoolkid wrote:https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/imag ... zMddrEllEfLaw Student 2848 wrote:If you did an LLM program, do you participate in the law school's OCI? Former NYU LLM here. Why do you want to get your LLM? In what subject?Law Student 2848 wrote:I was thinking of applying to NYU, Georgetown, Northwestern, and Boston. I want to do an LLM in Tax. I'd eventually like to do the tax side of acquisitions and restructurings in Biglaw and end up in the tax department of a corporation.

Re: LLM OCI?
Why can't you do that now? General rule of thumb is that if you're not positioned to land biglaw out of law school, you're wasting time and money getting an LLM. Even from NYU.Law Student 2848 wrote: I want to do an LLM in Tax. What are your other alternatives for the next year if you don't do the LLM? GPA and school approximation you're at now? Biglaw isn't easy to get out of NYU, but 2014 class did pretty well with employment. Also, depends on market you are looking at. California has been tough while NYC has been promising.
