AUSA Background
Hey everyone. I've accepted a job with a USAO and am now going through my background. Any idea whether spotty performance reviews at my prior biglaw job could have an impact on suitability/security review? Also, anyone know approximately how long it takes to get approval for the 14 month initial appointment?

Re: AUSA Background
The spotty performance reviews shouldn't have any effect at all, unless they involve you embezzling client funds or selling national secrets.
As for the background check, mine took 6-7 months.

Did you have to wait that long before you actually started working? You didn't get an initial appointment conditional on the successful completion of the background?

Can you say what office? I had an interview with the NDIL and I'm curious if they have already started filling their positions.

To the original poster: congratulations on receiving the offer!
Does anyone know whether CDCA has started to extend offers?

When I was in law school I reneged on a summer internship at the USAO for EDLA for personal reasons and am now applying for EDTX. Any insight into whether something like that would hurt you?

I'm also curious. They told me they would make their decisions about 2 weeks after the interviews, so I'm guessing I wasn't chosen.Anonymous User wrote:To the original poster: congratulations on receiving the offer!
