How much can I slack off at big law before I'm fired.

how few hours can I work before I'm fired? For instance, if I put in 40 hour weeks and just stop doing work after 40 hours regardless of the consequences, how long will I last?

you had no way of knowing this but one of the ways ken monetizes tls is by letting law firms pay $500/year to see who posts anonymously. congratulations, you should receive the letter confirming the revocation of your offer by u.s. mail within 3 business days.

You could probably last two years with under 1200.

I bet you could last 4 if you just worked 40 hours and billed 40 hours.

It depends on the firm.

I'm legitimately curious about this. If you get staffed on a deal with a small team that moves quickly at times, is it really even possible to just say "nah I can't work tonight/this weekend" any time you get asked, without repercussion?

I get that you probably wouldn't be immediately fired, but I struggle to see how you'd make it past a year if you did that.

Reputations spread fast. If you do that once (and you don't even attempt to muster a reasonable excuse), odds are high that you'll never be asked to work with anyone ever again. Most people who get shitcanned for hours literally cannot get staffed on anything because of their reputations.
