Hi all,
Do any of you know when firms (e.g., NYC V20) generally inform you of practice group assignment--assuming they asked you to rank preferences after you received your offer, instead of giving you an offer directly into a practice group?
I applied to a somewhat selective group, so I am curious. Also, do any of you have any advice on how I could maximize my chances at this point?
Thanks!

Re: Practice Group Assignments
Milbank just let us know this past Friday. My understanding is that last year's incoming class heard their assignments around the same time last year.

I would guess this varies widely. I know of a few NYC V100s that have not yet asked their former summers to rank groups, and at least one of them that does not let you know which group or groups you're joining until you start.
I'm also curious what the usual case is here, however.

Yup, my firm had us rank at the end of the summer, but we don't learn our assignments until we get back in the fall.Anonymous User wrote:I would guess this varies widely.
