Calling in a favor at a federal agency

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Apr 23, 2014 3:17 pm

I just interviewed for an entry level position at a federal agency. I spoke with one interviewer about an attorney we both worked with previously. This attorney likes me (I think), and she likes the attorney. Would it be a good idea to ask said attorney to call the interviewer to put in a good word?

Depends on how sure you are of the strengths of those connections, but I would think it's probably not a bad idea. Maybe call your mutual connection and ask their opinion of your chances or somesuch, and parlay that into seeing if they'd like to put in a good word.

Absolutely. Usually, if you know someone in the office, its a huge advantage. Ask your mutual connection if they can put in a good word. What agency?
