Re: emergency question about application for NY bar exam
See if there is a form to fill out to amend your bar exam application. Also, double check the grammar on your bar exam application.shouhu66 wrote:When I filled the online application form for NY BAR EXAM, I made a mistake. I chose 0 credit for PR course. But I didn't realize it

I wouldn't worry about it, but obviously I am not giving you legal advice here and if you want to know the answer to your question you should seek out a lawyer who has experience in this area.shouhu66 wrote:Does it affect the character and morality?
Rule 8.1 Bar Admission And Disciplinary Matters
An applicant for admission to the bar, or a lawyer in connection with a bar admission application or in connection with a disciplinary matter, shall not:
(a) knowingly make a false statement of material fact; or
(b) fail to disclose a fact necessary to correct a misapprehension known by the person to have arisen in the matter, or knowingly fail to respond to a lawful demand for information from an admissions or disciplinary authority, except that this rule does not require disclosure of information otherwise protected by Rule 1.6.

I don't understand the error you made. What should you have put instead of zero?shouhu66 wrote:What do you mean?NYSprague wrote:What were you supposed to put? I think you can fix a simple typo.
If it is just an incorrect number, there should be a process to correct it. Don't lose sleep on it this weekend.

NY requires you have taken at least 2 credits from the PR course. Our school's PR course is 3 credits. I chose 0 credit instead of 3. I made this mistake.NYSprague wrote:I don't understand the error you made. What should you have put instead of zero?shouhu66 wrote:What do you mean?NYSprague wrote:What were you supposed to put? Yeah I don't think a typo constitutes perjury. I don't see how you could prove intent.ph14 wrote:I wouldn't worry about it, but obviously I am not giving you legal advice here and if you want to know the answer to your question you should seek out a lawyer who has experience in this area.shouhu66 wrote:Does it affect the character and morality?
