GULC Top 5% Etc?
My sources tell me that the school emails you to tell you what your percent rank is if you're top 5% or better. Does anyone know what GPA clocks in at top 5% for 2Ls (not 1Ls)? Also will gladly take stats for top 4%, 3%, 2%, or 1% instead.

Georgetown does indeed have a secret, entirely unpublished system of ranking students with their individual percentile placement if they are within the top 5%. This actually goes against their published information of not ranking and only using top third and top 10% cutoffs (but then again, the 1L top-15% cutoff isn't officially mentioned in the student handbook, is arguably contrary to their stated policy of not ranking students and only providing annual Dean's List and graduating honors, and only appears on the registrar's grade cutoffs page). Unfortunately, I can't say what the top-5% cutoff is, and only those who were exactly at the 5% mark in the last couple of years can give you any advice on where it might be under the new curve (and I would expect a fair bit of discrepancy based on their particular section).
I would try asking the registrar, and see what she says. Then let us know what she says (I imagine you'll get rejected, but the reasoning would be interesting).

Re: GULC Top 5% Etc?
The school does send emails and snail mail letters to students w/in top 5%. But, I only know 1L information for my section, and that varies a lot by section, so it's pretty pointless. Also, any info you might get is pretty useless because of the the new curve implemented a few years ago (as dead head indicated).
But, if I had to guess, I'd say around 3.75. Note that last years Magna 10% cutoff for graduating students was 3.72, and 3L grades generally go up a tiny bit.

Are you able to say what the spread in terms of GPA was between top 5% and top 10% for your section?

Not a legal employment question.
