How many externs do Judges hire over the summer?
Hi guys, for those who did an externship w/ a Judge over the summer, how many externs did the Judge usually hire? Is it only 1 or 2? Or like 5? On average.

This is really going to vary for every judge there is. If you're curious about the place you are working, it's not out of bounds to ask how many they are hiring.Anonymous User wrote:Hi guys, for those who did an externship w/ a Judge over the summer, how many externs did the Judge usually hire? I know of some district judges that hired 3. My judge will only have one. Some don't hire any. It really varies. So does the type of work you do. A lot of externs at district courts get a ton of social security cases.

I think judges can hire up to 4 (maybe 5?). Not sure what the average is but the amount definitely varies judge to judge.
