I've never posted on TLS, but I don't see a board on this, so here goes: I could use some advice on how to fill out my conflict form for my summer associate position this summer. I worked for government agencies in the past (DOJ and DOE). The rest of my employment did not involve working in a legal capacity. For the DOJ, I did FTCA claims, which basically involved recommending whether and how to settle various administrative tort claims based upon a case file (probably handled about 100 or more over the course of the summer) and some employment discrimination work (I prepared an administrative EEOC response brief and did some legal research assignments where I was not told the claimants' names). At the Department of Energy, all I did was employment discrimination, and that involved reading over a fair number of case files, so I learned claimant names at some point, but the most I did for any particular case was prepare a draft of the agency response brief for the EEOC proceedings. While I may remember a couple of names of individual claimants who were adverse parties to the agencies, I suspect it would be incredibly difficult for the agencies to dig up all of the names associated with cases I worked on. I did learn information that I had to keep confidential about various matters, but it seems unlikely that any of these parties would in the future be adverse to my firm. My conflicts form is due soon, so how do you think I should proceed?

You may want to post this kind of thing as "anonymous" in the future.
The way to resolve this is to call the recruiting/HR contact at your firm with any questions. They can either answer it for you, or they can connect you with the firm's conflicts department and they can make sure you fill it out correctly.

I was able to just list the name of the place I worked at and a general idea of the matters I worked on instead of going into lots of detail about every single thing I touched. You might be able to do the same.
